I absolutely love the swing dresses from the 40's and 50's. I would love to have one, and because most of us crafty, sewin' mama's spend most of our time making things for our kindo's, I thought that my pumpkin would get one instead. So I modified this pattern and added it to that pattern, made a circle skirt and got this. My version of a halter swing dress for a 2 year old. She loves to pose.

That's candy hanging out of her mouth. It kinda looks like a cigarette.

I shirred the back to make it easy to get on her.

This is her sailor dress that she wore for the 4th of July.

This last one has to be my favorite. The fabric I got for 50% off at Hancocks. Its from the Cheetah Girls. It was pink, sparkly with cheetah print. AWSOME!

The best part of it is the 8 yards of black ribbon gathered on the bottom.

Please let me know what you think.
Thanx for looking

These dresses are adorable.  They look very cute on your daughter.  Now you have to make yourself a matching outfit  Wink

I love those dresses! They're feminine and tough--perfect for a modern toddler.

Oh, your dresses are adorable.  I love the pink with all the black ribbons. but the red checked one - 'specially with the scarf tied around her head - absolutely fabulous!  Great work!  Great model!

Those are super cute -- I think the red one is my fave because it looks like something Lucy would want the money from Ricky Ricardo to buy! lol  Great job!  If you have any fabric left, some boutique pants or pantaloons would look great, especially under the blue one.
