So after seeing the Star-ghan, I really wanted to make one.
There were alot of posts saying how they were having problems with the first round.
I got past that, and I'm not having a problem with that round but with the second round... can anyone help me out please?

Heres the post: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=115584.0

and here's the pattern link for the second round that I can't figure out...
http://www.angelfire.com/va3/heartfeltangels/littlestarafghan.html

for round 2: 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in first ch 2 space, *shell in next ch 2 space. Repeat from * around. Sl st in 3rd ch of beginning chain to join. (30 dc/5ch-2 spaces)

So first question: where would I put the 2dc?(first step) It doesn't say if it should put it in the first ch from the base ch 3, or anywhere else...

Second question: where is the ch 2 sp?

I've tried a hundered different combinations for these steps and nothing looks right.

the pic below has the first round I have finished, and the arrow is pointing to the ch that I am not sure where my 2 dc's go, and also the arrow is pointing to where I am not sure if that is the ch2 sp or not. (is that big space the ch 2 sp they are talking about?)

Does anyone understand my mumbling?   Huh
I'm seriously lost.
And to think that after all the other things I have made, I get stuck on something that should be so simple..

Please can someone help me out?

YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!

Wow I'm really laughing like a mad woman right now...  Grin

That tut did the job (even though I am a left handed hooker.) Its a billion times easier to do if I see the stitches rather than just read the directions.

Thank you SO much.

I am so glad the tut helped you, it's what I used when I first started making these now I know the pattern by heart and make them for anyone I know having a baby.
