My friend's wedding was this weekend and she is someone ( a rare someone?) who really appreciates handmade things. SO, I decided to craft much of her wedding gift! She mentioned her kitchen is various shades of blue and brown, and I went wild with it.
I started by gathering items. I got a nice wooden bowl, purchased some things: tea towels, plastic utensils from her registry, and a quick-and-easy cookbook. . . . and started crafting!
The crafted itemsFour potholders in various shapes & fabric - I basically just cut my front and back fabric shapes and 2 matching layers of cotton (not poly!) batting for each, quilted them together, and trimmed with bias tape.

A pair of oven mitts - I used the pattern and MOSTLY used the tutorial at
http://www.savvyseams.com/apt/mitts.php
A manly grilling apron 'for him' - I basically just made a big rectangle of fabric (2 layers), and then folded it in so that the top half was a bit more angled. The waist string and neck string are bias tape.

And a pretty apron 'for her' - I saw one similar in a magazine, so I just made it this shape.
