I just love the look of this. I have no experience in draping or pattern making, but this makes me want to wing it and see what happens. I can tell that you're very proud of it and you should be!

Oh, and of course...THIS ROCKS!

Stunning! You have serious talent.

My only question is - where do people wear all this steampunk stuff? Is it just for your portfolios? Do you have closets of steampunk clothing? Or is there somewhere you can go and wear your stuff and admire other people's steampunk stuff?

Thanks everyone!

My friends and I are all cosplayers, and every year one of our friends hosts an outdoor costume picnic with a theme. We just get together dressed up, have photoshoots, eat food and socialize. This years theme was Steampunk. In the past we've done Alice in Wonderland and Marie Antoinette as themes.
As for Steampunk specifically, there are frequently themed parties, meetups and conventions in the Steampunk scene. The SteamFashion LJ community is a great place to admire other peoples Steampunk costumes and is a great resource for aquiring interesting steampunk articles of clothing.

Ah, that makes sense, thanks! I always wondered what people did with them. They look so beautiful, I just couldn't think what I'd do with them if I actually had one
