I had a thought of having groups of seven and sending seven inchies to each person.
A few questions though.....
can there be someone who volunteers to be co-organiser just for that group, and keeps track of everything just for that group and gets the organiser's help if there are any problems?
I know co-organisers usually come in after 20 or so people, but i think this would make it a whole easier on everyone and less confusing for the organiser.
Did that make sense? Is it possible?

I really like that better than five inchies to ten people!

I REALLY think this is an awesome idea. I think there could be one person from each group who watches over their entire group. It really is soo confusing organizing this swap, but I totally would be up for it if this could be how it works. But I really think it might be a little hard to get everyone to cooperate/get someone to volunteer, maybe having at least one veteran inchie maker in each group and that is the co-org.

Yes, please!

And I would totally be able to co-org a small group, rather than a group of several groups!

Great idea, mel.

Ok if we did do it like this, and I'm pretty sure we will be, should we do it with seven people in a group with seven inchies to each partner, or should we do something more like 8 people in each group to make five groups (if there are 40 people, and I totally refuse to have more than that if I organize), or maybe only allow 35 people to sign up and have five groups of seven, each sending seven and that would give us a nice 49 count, which alot of people have commented about wanting!!!

Also what would be nice about this is less envelopes to send/keep track of, instead of the 360 envies going out there would only be 210, thats a big difference (150)! That also cheeper!!

So we would just need two more co-orgs, that is if smmarrt and melmakespretty would like to co-org with me. But it is a little sad because I wanted to swap inchies with both of you, expecially if I got one of you avatar inchies smmarrt, they are really cute, I was thinking of doing my own next round, I'm thinking about carving a stamp with my avatar too!

I'd be in for sure.
Ooh I like your idea about carving stamps. that would look cool.
I don't think it would be too hard to find two more co-organisers.
I got alot of more old childrens books from my MIL so I'm set....

I totally didn't mean to kick you out, if you want to organize go ahead, I'm really not ready for it yet anyway! For some reason I had thought smmarrt had started the thread.

it's cool - I would like to get this going in the next couple of weeks if enough people are interested. With summer I'm not sure there will be the numbers there was in the frist few inchie swaps.

so rather than do 5 inchies to 10 people we want 7 inchie to 7 people

I'd love another swap and would love to co-organize a smaller group if it's needed.  I was trying to work up the energy and courage to organize one the way it was previously structured but just can't get there yet.

So, count me in whatever way someone needs.

Thank you!!  I've been still making inchies pretty regularly, but for a swap is a lot more fun!

A couple of weeks sounds great, that'll give my atc time ot be delivered and I can close out two of my swaps! I'm not sure there will be as many people interested either, but I'll be interested!

I really do like this way better than the previous way. ANd I notices alot of people mentions doing it this way in the last two rounds so that we could have a square nmber of inchies.

Thank you!!  I've been still making inchies pretty regularly, but for a swap is a lot more fun!
They are WAY more fun to make for someone else. I can't just sit down and make inchies unless there is a good reason Roll Eyes.

Yeah that is what I'm thinking - maybe a set of three inchies per early sender - will have to see how many people we end up with - I have some extras I've done Smiley

I hope it's OK to offer a suggestion, but could it be recommended if not required that people put their inchies between index cards or in a card or something along those lines?  The inchies that were damaged by the PO were always ones that were in an envelope without some kind of "heavier" paper surrounding them.  I suspect that the PO machines squish the envelopes as they sort and cancel and the card paper's weight was enough to "smooth over" the sharp edges of the inchies.

Hope this post makes sense and if I'm out of line, feel free to delete, tell me so, and/or ignore.

Oh, I bought new stuff just for inchies today!  I have to be in a parade first thing in the morning, but it's inchies time after that!

oh yes there will be packaging guidelines - yeah putting them in a envie so they can sticking together and or get bent up isn't going to work. I've gotten some like that in the past

there are several easy ways to pack them so they get to their new homes without damage.

At first I was all, "inchies, wtf is an inchie?" Then I saw them and was intrigued but still kind of confused on what you do with them. I'm dipping my toes in now, and I must admit that it's kinda fun. I think of them like avatars, or those scrabble tile pendants...are scrabble tiles 1x1?

As soon as I finish my first batch I'll think about joining up!

I'm totally in for another inchie swap! I took the last round off because of work, but now that I'm done with work for a few months I'd love to do this. I just finished a huge sent of inchies for another swap and I'm in inchie making mode. I learned some new techniques since the last go around and I feel I've really improved!
