I am utterly and completely envious of you right now. I have ALWAYS wanted a hidden room behind a bookcase and the book latch is too awesome for words! I see a rambling Victorian being fitted out with several of these in my future. Hell, all of my rooms might have to have hidden doors! This definitely rocks! What an insane amount of shelving as well. I am green with envy!

I have many crochet and plastic canvas booklets/leaflets from the 70's, 80's, and 90's that I am interested in trading for a variety of items. PM me if you would like a list of what I have.

This is a dream of mine! Are you gonna go any further with it? I haven't read all of these replies, so it might've been mentioned, but I have an idea. Give that plywood on the inside of the door some finish...like make it look like brick.

Man you guys are badass! =) kudos. many many kudos. One of the best craft projects i've seen. EVAR.

That's a FABULOUS idea!  I'm definitely going to try that out.  What makes it even more fitting is that the wall the bookcases are one is truly brick (covered by plaster of course).  LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!

I am SO JEALOUS.

We have a room shelved as a library (and it's already FULL of books, we need like a castle with one of those multistory libraries with a ladder and everything...) but I WANT A SECRET DOORWAY WITH A SECRET BOOK LATCH. OMG.

'Who are YOU?' said the caterpillar.

'I--I hardly know, sir, just at present-- at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.'

I've always wanted a secret passage way, but never thought it would be possible...

This is the cooled DIY (with help) project I have ever seen.

I am awed at your Brother-in-law's skill, and your creativity.

Sometimes you get to change the world, and other times the world changes you.

Currently drowning in the sea called PhD.

Interested in swapping for I-Spy Quilt Squares and Scraps.
