I crocheted this sock monkey for the Easy Peasy swap a little while ago.  I thought it came out cute.

Thanks.  I thought so too.  I really hated to give it away.

I've been wanting to crochet a little sock monkey, but I have trouble finding the right yarn to really make it look like a sock monkey. Do you have any suggestions on that??
He came out so cute though! I love him!

I had some yarn I found at a yard sale.  It was a blend of yarns that I thought would be perfect for a monkey.  There are some yarn stores or sweater factories that sometimes blend single strands into 3, 4, 5 or even 6 strands to form a blend. These are the strands that you sometimes find on a cone.  I think the colors in this blend was shades of ivory, beige and brown.  Sometimes you can find a specialty yarn with similar colors.
