Happy Birthday all!!!

dpns are great!  I prefer them over circular needles.  To me they are much more versitile.  Smiley

Ok, CC!  I'll start on your mushroom soon!

I just finished up doing a bunch of repairs for someone.  It's the first time I've had to charge for something like this and LaughingLark was kind enough to help me figure out how to approach it.  It feels odd to charge her to repair all of this costume jewelry though.  I don't think I can do it even though it took me over 2 hours to repair it all.

Hi, everyone, relatives visiting, fun relatives, so having a blast, not crafting, sorry!

Found a bargain to share! Knitter's companion book. If love to knit, this is a great companion!
in my supplies:

PW, have a good, fun, safe trip.

Wow, you all are having lots of fun, too, glad to hear it.

atsuko, I loved you before I knew you were asian, and more so because of it! You should see the lovely jewelry I got from atsuko in the over 30 swap! Watch for it, I'm dressing up tomorrow, and will take pics after I get home.

Mark's fever finally broke, he's only a little high -- 99 degrees (F). Went to doctor Friday, and of course they took all the tests, fever broke so he feels better, and won't know any results of the tests until LATE Monday. You know the "instant" flu results test? Any normal dr could do it in 30 mins, but our dr does a "nasal" test and sends out to a lab -- AAAARGH!!!

So we are enjoying relatives today and tomorrow. Mostly Mark is in bed and joins us for meals.

I need to go shopping! I have points burning a hole in my pocket and no time!

I added a new headband & Christmas appliques to my shop...

What are the rules on copying/trading old copywrited material?  I found a booklet on crocheted bedspreads, circa 1938.  I couldn't possibly part with it since I inherited it from my grandma.  But I thought about offering to scan & send for a point?  I wasn't sure if that was ok.  I see some people offering PDF-ed vintage patterns on Etsy, so thought I'd check.  Didn't know if, after 70 years had gone by, it was ok.

Aw, you're too sweet Sewknitter!  I'm glad you liked the jewelry, but please don't feel that you need to take pics tomorrow.  I know you must be running ragged taking care of your hubby.  Cheesy

I beleive the rule is 75 years plus the life of the author on vintage materials. Though I'm not sure on that. There's a board here somewhere where people share vintage patterns they know more than I do.
Most of those people on etsy won't get anything happening to them as the companies that put the patterns out don't exist anymore. I personally find selling a copy of something wrong but giving it away is something else entirely. However that is my personal feeling. and not legal advice in any way.

There isn't an author & I'll have to see if I can make out a company...

In the meantime, I am looking for clothing trim that is 4-6" in length.  It's for a sunbonnet sue quilt blocks, so I am looking for a variety.  Things like flat lace, eyelet, rickrack, etc.  I'd take a bag of miscellaneous bits of trim for 1 point, anyone?

I am about to leave to go camping for the next 2 days. I don't believe I'll have the net but we do have a jetski! *happy dance*
I'm bringing one small project for sts to work on though. I can't live without my crafts even for one day.

What are the rules on copying/trading old copywrited material?  I found a booklet on crocheted bedspreads, circa 1938.

According to the website I've linked to below, it should be legal for you to copy it. Items copyrighted between 1923 and 1963 have a maximum copyright life of 67 years. So, if the item you're wondering about was published/copyrighted in 1938, it's copyright would have expired in 2005 (could have been earlier, but that's the absolute latest it could have gone).

And have any of you knitters seen this book called Wacky Baby Knits? It looks friggin' adorable!

Well maybe I'll offer it then for a point if anyone is interested.

I'm actually super excited about my find bc, as I posted below, it's a bedspread my grandma started!  I thought it was a tablecloth & I finally took it out to take pics, looking for advice on what to do with it.  I'm going to have to learn to crochet now!  I'm hoping my MIL can show me...

In the meantime, I'm quilt, quilt, quilting away.  Anyone have any cute face embroidery patterns for an "old Dutch clock" and a "Chinese plate?"  I have the cats & dogs, but decided to add these guys.  I'm looking for something cute but where they look shocked a la The Duel...
