This is a pretty neat idea. Depending on when it happens, I could be in.

And I'd be willing to pinch hit for an international person, if need be-- I'm not international, but I fully believe I could find virtually any international thing in my city if I look hard enough. Smiley

I was interested in the previous swaps of this theme, but can never think of what the country doesn't have, since I have not been outside of it (the US) except for better chocolate

This is so cool. I would love to trade with someone. I'm from the Netherlands and have been thinking about stuff we have.

What city are you in?

Well, this swap is a little different because your partner will tell you what kind of things they'd like according to what kind of things they collect or are just interested in. For example, I'm a coin collector, so I will ask my partner to specifically send me different coins from their country. Someone else might collect magnets, postcards, stamps, t-shirts, etc... or they might just be interested in getting something specific, like chocolate or some kind of little doll or a cookbook or who knows what else. The point is that the first half of the swap will be something that your partner requests and the crafted portion will be something you make that compliments that request or reflects your country.

If I continue to get interest in this swap, I'm thinking that I'll start sign-ups July 22-31, then have send-outs August 23, which should be enough time to gather your requested items and craft 1 medium item. How's that sound?

i love personal swaps. i'm looking to swap my art or paper crafts for some re-usable fabric snack bags, fabric sandwich wraps, fabric paper towels, glass pendants, ephemera, or art books.

The other swaps were "my country doesn't have that", but what about "sharing cultures swap" or "crafting for aliens" (as in a country unfamiliar to your own)

I get how it works now. I'd just be afraid of someone asking for chocolate and me sending them something that's available down the street from them.

I happen to like maps, so that wouldn't be an issue for my eventual partner.

Of course, even available craft supplies are different in every country.

Oh I would love to take part to that swap. I'm from Belgium and have access to unlimited supplies of chocolate! Smiley
