This enormous bag was a nightmare to make. I put down the project for about a month halfway through because I got so frustrated when I accidentally made the zippered laptop part of it taller than the rest. (facepalm)

Overall, though, I'm really very happy with how it turned out. It's the perfect bag for taking with you on short vacations. The outside of it used to be a set of heavy curtains, and then the inside is just a patchwork of scraps I needed to get rid of. I really like the fastening mechanism I devised -- which just involves a bit of ribbon and a button to wrap it around. It doesn't come apart and this way you can stuff your bag as full as you want without worrying that it'll flap open!

look! I even made a mini-makeup bag to match!

Wow.  I never thought to use curtains before.  Thank you for sharing.

You're welcome! (: I find that the most ridiculous-sounding fabrics give me the best results.

I absolutely love the cosmetic bag! I am a huge, non-discriminating, bag fan.

i love the patchwork - is the inside of the cosmetic bag also scraps?

Yes, it is! Both were very fun to make. ^^; Once I got over the frustration.
