So, my sister and I used to have this huuuge blue and white sheet that my mom slept on when she was little that we used for forts, princess gowns, pirate ships, picnic blankets, etc. This sheet was forgotten after a while, only to be rediscovered recently, and converted into not 1, but 2 dresses. If that's not recycling, I don't know what is
Originally, this was only for me. But after seeing my success with my own dress (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=310668.0
), my sister begged me to make her one too, with the scrap fabric. I had enough left over, and way too much time on my hands, so I agreed. Mine was made with Roethke's sheet dress tute, but my sister's is a little different. I'm really happy with it, this is the first time I've ever tried piping and binding(i'm pretty sure that's what it's called), and even though it is a huge pain, I love the way it came out.
More or less full body shot:
Close up of top (and excited 12 year old grin
) The bottom's a half circle skirt, really not that exciting.
The back. Please excuse bra straps, she was too excited to actually change
. The only "real" button is at the top, the others are actually snaps
Side/action ish shot
So, that's pretty much it! Questions, comments, concerns are welcome
