The front and back of a shirt I did for my husband's birthday. The color around the cake on the front was done because I messed up and bleached outside of the stencil. So, I just decided to make it look more intentional. I think it sort of looks like a wall in the game where you might find the graffiti.

I based this angel on a photo I took in Italy (figure standing next to a tomb in the Sante Croce). I wanted an angel, but the figure I photographed was just a woman, so I added the wings. I really wanted to do the crying angel in Doctor Who's "Don't Blink" but I couldn't find a full body image online. (Please forgive the cat hair. My siamese's favorite place to curl up is on any piece of black clothing she can find)

This last one is an ambigram for the word "Beauty" I designed (it reads the same thing upside down).

awesome I really like these shirts.  if you hadn't said anything about the bleach I would have never known.  so you did a great job! I love all the little experiences you posted with them as well.  I wanted to know on the angel did you free hand the wings?

Now, I know that part of your first shirt is bleached, which is the orangey color, correct?

Is the actual image bleached?  And if so...that's AMAZING!!!!!!  Or is it paint?  If it's paint....STILL AMAZING!!!!

I love them.  If you did use bleach for the images, how long did you leave it on to get that nice white color on the black shirt?

NightOwl21: Actually, I think I found another sculpture picture somewhere and used wings from that, I just adjusted it slightly so the highlights would work with the rest of the piece.

ErinmarieZ: Yep, the whole thing is bleached. The reason the rust areas look that way is because so little bleach was used. The blue "O" on the front was bleached first, then painted in by hand. As for how it was done, it's not really a time issue. Jenihall here on the forum posted a tutorial sometime back, but I just found out it was pulled recently "for her own business reasons". She may be offering it for sale on Etsy or something, and I don't want to step on any toes...

Quicksilverjen (and others): Thanks!  Grin

That one and the one with the portal to early France through a fireplace on a spaceship (for the life of me I can't remember the name of that one. The one with the clockwork robots) are my two favorites. I love how creepy Blink is, though!

The cake is a lie!  Those are all awesome.  Mucho kudos on designing an ambigram, I remember a friend laboring over one of those in high school Cheesy
