My first papercraft post - bookmarks and origami mobile

While sick with the flu I decided to make this butterfly mobile out of some scrap paper, beads and cotton. The top is just a wooden loop covered in ribbon.



Also I bought a magnetic bookmark ages ago and its has finally died. But I haven't been able to find another one with a half decent picture on it so I've made my own, and some for a friend. I can't wait to use my twilight bookmarks in their books. Its really handy as alot of bookmarks tend to fall out.

I love your magnetic bookmarks, they are brilliant!  Also, the mobile is lovely.  On the Community Thread Crafting For Good not Evil there is a holocaust museam asking for hand crafted butterflys and these origami ones are perfect!  Tute on the butterflys please!  I hit the "This Rocks" button for you.

I just typed in origami butterfly on the net and got the instructions. They're pretty easy.

Thanks for the copy of the directions.  I searched the web and it looks like you got it from http://www.davidpetty.me.uk/mom/mom18.htm.  I am fine until I get to step 10 and then I get lost.  Will keep working on it though.

lol, I got stuck at 10 too, I think I stared at 10 and 11 for ages and then destroyed a few until I figured it out. Good luck.

I love your mobile, I saw a mobile that yours reminded me of except they were paper hummingbirds. They wanted 39$ for it at the gift shop at the grand canyon. I like yours a lot more than that one.  I know how to make cranes so maybe I will make a mobile out of them...hmmmm. Craftster good for ideas bad for my pocketbook and time...
