My whole family lives 2000 miles away and is HUGE. My husbands family do a Christmas get together where each family does an ornament exchange so, I am making 16-20 of the same ornament this year instead of the 15 from years past because some of his cousins have moved out on their own since last Christmas. I think I am either going to do some poly clay candy,  or something to do with Twilight I also might do something with knitting for these ornaments. I try to make these ornaments relevant to what has gone on with me and the hubby through out the year and I learned how to knit this year and we both read Twilight and fell in love. The poly clay candy is just because we love chocolates and i make candy every Christmas lol. (Shipping)

For my friends around here I am going to make a candy gift box thing with caramel chocolate covered marshmallows, Candied Popcorn, Chocolate covered Raisins and crasins an  something with peanut butter I haven't decided what yet lol.

For my niece and nephew  I am making some fabric books and hopefully some hooded towels with their names embroidered on them.

For my family I think I am going to make some Christmas embroidered towels. Then some doll clothes for the dolls my mom is making my baby cousins.(Shipping)

For the hubby I am going to make him a quillow for when he has to go out of town since he does that a lot lol. I am also making him an orange chocolate cake and a bag that has compartments for his travel stuff to make traveling easier on him.

For my mom and Gran I am making some charm bracelets same for my mother in law.(Shipping)

My Niece and Nephews parents will be getting ornaments for the tree, a Christmas Tea Towel and some candy.

My really good friends here will be getting Books for the two youngest boys that I am going to make the oldest boy I am making him a thing to carry his cars in. For the parents I am making her Jewelry and him food.

MY friends daughter will be getting Bella's Mittens a twilight color scarf and bellas la push hat. Everything but the gloves are done lol.

For me I am making two afghans for the back of the couches lol.

I think that is it I have been crafting since March so who knows what else i have in my box o stuff lol

*Father - Also quite religious, puts his family before everything, very proud of being dutch

Hmm, he doesn't subscribe to the saying "If you ain't Dutch, you ain't much" does he?lol  That's my FIL's favorite thing to say as he is descended from Dutch stock.  I keep thinking I should put it on a pillow or something.lol

After searching for many days, I have FINALLY found this thread!  I'm looking for Christmas ideas for the family this year.

I have 101 family members.

There is myself & hubs, 21 y.o. Dd, 15 y.o. DS, 5 y.o. DD, and 3 y.o. DD in my household.
Every Christmas we get together with the extended family.  This family does not believe in drawing names.  However, there are many family members to make homemade candy, etc and gift "family" gifts.  A couple of years ago, I made a family tree quilt for my inlaws.  I also cross stitched the family name and framed it.  Each married couple rec'd one of these.

The tween-teen girls each rec'd a pillow in the shape of the first initial of their name.  The Tween-teen boys rec'd a dollar store bought camoflage wallet that I personalized with a gold paint pen.  The PreK-Tween kiddos (boys and girls) rec'd a hand painted personalized pillowcase.

This year, I'm lost.  I have no clue what to do other than repeat some gifts for the kiddos who have been born since the last time I made those gifts for their cousins or siblings.

HELP!?  Please!!!  Send me some thoughts!

Thanks!

With the USPS flat rate shipping boxes it really isn't that bad I ship one box to my mom and one to his then they distribute to the family. However, if I get it all done before the 6th of October I will be able to take everything out there myself lol. I just have to keep it under 20 pounds if I do ship which is easy enough to do lol.

Geez, celestial!!!  So many family members....with that many people - make them each an address book - everyone's address, phone number, family info - birthdays, anniversaries, etc....add photos of each member if you have them.  Make it an altered book - or an collage calenday for the coming year - put the family member's photo on their birthday, etc...

i love the address book idea! We only see my family at Christmas, so about 20 ppl total!

ideas do far...

mum : cross-stitch (have been working on a handful of samplers all year- my in-front-of-tv projects :)and maybe a quilt
dad : scottish background, so anything with family tartan or crest on will do... prob some kind of embroidery
sister : winemaker, single, early thirties... black and red quilt with asian inspired embroidery, kimono cross stitch and maybe more - she's taking us all to thailand in october so i better give her something nice this year!
brother : decorated wine glasses and charms
brothers wife : lump of coal (nah... too hard to find!) umm maybe some decorated tea towels (and prob one of the cross stitch's)
niece (18mths) : cupcake quilt Smiley

hubby : still thinking ...
ds 9 : store bought crap, and maybe a couple of cushions for his bedroom
dd 7 : waaay too easy, handmade bags and stuffies..prob make a few extra for her fav gf's too :0)

will prob make some ornaments and small items for the cousins and their families

i need some ideas for the chrissy cards? last year the kids and i did cute fingerprint reindeer and sleighs, but im having a mental blank right now and cant think of anything  to put on this years! have about 50 on the list...so not too many.. ideas welcome!

Haha this is an awesome topic!

So far I have thought of something for everyone on my list except for my dad and brother and my boyfriend's dad. I normally get the bf's dad some hickory farms sets since I know he likes those, but this year I want to get him something more personal. My brother's fixing to start college this fall, so I was thinking about getting him college things for Christmas, but won't he already have him by the time the holiday rolls around? So I'm at a loss there. And my dad... I have no idea, so all suggestions are welcome!

I'll put my master list up later to help anyone else out!

I have 4 brothers and sisters and I've made them calendars for a few christmas'.  They always appreciate it because I do put all the birthdays and anniversaries on them.  It's fun to make them with family photos too.

I'll see if I can think of anything else, Celestial.
