So, my best friend's brother is getting married, he is the best man and it's a beachy theme wedding, so i was asked to make him a hemp anklet with cowrie shells...but i am at a total loss as how to do this...and i can't find any decent instructions online.  I have done hemp before, but just with normal beads.  If anyone can share instructions i would much appreciate it.
this is kinda what i'm looking for ish:

The cowrie shells there have their backs cut off. I've seen these at bead stores before. you simply start at one end of the shell, string your "filler" threads into the groove and carry your "worker" threads underneath, then start knotting again until you reach the other end of the shell where you just repeat how you strung the first end.
