Hi Fellow MN Craftsters!
I have a question regarding upcoming craft fairs--specifically, the No Coast Craft-O-Rama and also the Handmaiden shows they have periodically at the VFW.  I can't find info about applying for either.  I realize that No Coast isn't until December, so maybe the applications aren't out yet, but what about the Handmaiden shows?  Every website I find about either show has not been updated since 2008.  What's the deal?  Any info to share?

Thanks!

info usually doesn't come out until around August. my suggestion is to get on both of their mailing lists, as an artist and they will send you the info when it comes around.

good luck!

Thanks so much, savage pixie!  I got your PM regarding the application info....I'm currently debating whether or not I want to apply.  I've never done this sorta thing before, so it's kinda scary!

you've never done a craft show before?
well, No Coast is a huge one, a little daunting perhaps.

May I ask what it is you make?
There is a committee that decides who is in and who is out. (this happens every year, meaning people who made it in one year might not make it in this year.) and if you have something that is very common, the selection process gets more intense.
i'm not telling you this to warn you off, telling you to prepare you, ha.

a few pointers though...
Try to do shows that have only handmade vendors, you'll do better. (though not always. you live and learn.)
and do your research!

Thanks for all the advice Smiley I've attended No Coast several times as a shopper, and have always loved the mix of vendors and such.  It seems to be a well-run show, from what I can tell.

Yeah, it would be my first show/first attempt at getting in a show, though I grew up being in arts and crafts shows with my mom (she's an artist) so I do have a little experience that way.  Anyway, I make nipple pasties, which isn't something I've seen at No Coast before.  It may be a little risque?  But then again, I try to do everything very tastefully and fun, not tacky.

At any rate, I'm still on the fence about it, as I would have a LOT to invest in before the show (if I got in), and I'm currently unemployed Sad I'm going to think about it and possibly apply closer to the end date.

honestly, i think that if there were ever a place for pasties, it would be No-Coast. haha. they strive for the eclectic and it sounds fun.

well good luck! on the art front as well as the unemployment front!
