Threadless Cake Contest

Threadless t-shirts is running a cake contest where you take a t-shirt and transfer it to cake form.  Being game I decided to submit one:

so awesome!  I bet it tastes as awesome as it looks!  Did you use premade fondant or did you make your own?

Thanks!  I made homemade marshmallow fondant (it was my first time) and it has a really good taste, here's a link to the recipe if you want to try it:

I made one batch and it was more than enough to cover and 8 inch square by 2 inch high cake.  Probably would have covered two cakes that size.

I was a bit disappointed to find out that the contest is open to professional bakers as well as amateurs, that seemed a bit sad... I mean, takes a bit of the fun out of it if it's a pro contest

Oooh this is so cute! I've always liked that design, and it looks really good in cake form. The colours are perfect!

I'm working on my 3-D entry right now, but I kind of like the 2-D prize more, so expect some friendly competition 

I agree about the pro bakers being allowed, too. It kinda bites for us amateurs, but I'm still going to try.

Bummer!  I have to wait to see this when I get home.  Can't wait!  I'm bookmarking this.  I just got into cooking/baking lately and have been very intrigued by fondant.
