I had never sewed in my life until this past weekend when I impulsively bought a brand new sewing machine. Once I figured out how to thread the dang thing I started looking for easy patterns to get started with and I stumbled upon CheyElizabeth's Easy Peasy Wallet pattern (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=187229.0).

I'm addicted. These are so fun and fast and easy enough for a total noob like me to figure out. I'm going to try to make some longer ones for eyeglass cases and maybe some little shorties for contact lens cases. The possibilities are endless.

I CAN'T STOP!!

(Don't look too closely at the stitching - I'm new to this whole sewing thing!!)

Those look great!  Heck, your stitching is straighter than mine, and I've been sewing with a machine (routinely, even) since December Cheesy  Hope you keep at it!

Congratulations, you've done a great job for your 1st project. The hard part w/this wallet is getting that bottom corner folded & sewn to make the side seam - mine don't always come out as nice as yours & I'm not a newbie.

These are totally gorgeous. The fabric combos are great. I've been sewing for 18 months and these wallets intimidate me. I think I'll take the plunge and try them out!

You have done a great job for a newbie, you have talent.
I have never gotten around to making one of those, you have inspired me to try it.

Thank you all so much for the encouraging words! It's week 2 with the sewing machine and so far, I haven't thrown it out the window Smiley.

I'm so happy that I inspired a couple of you to give these wallets a shot. It took me about 3 hours to realize that I had to have a bobbin thread in order for the machine to actually sew - that's how much of a sewing noob I am!! If I can do it - you definitely can!!

Good luck and I can't wait to see you all posting pics of your wallets.

Good job. I always have problems with the snaps. You will have to try zippered pouches next. Smiley
