I got yellow shoes, and had very little that would go with them. So... I needed to make new clothes. I'm also trying to wear dresses & heels as much as I can this summer, so I need a good excuse to spruce up my wardrobe.

I made this out of an old sheet:

(I realized only -after- I'd finished making it that the skirt was all faded & the top wasn't. >.< Hm. The belt... kind of?...breaks it up.)

Then there was this vintage dress, which had a fantastic color & beautiful fabric. I'm not sure I did as good a job on this as I should have? It had fantastic button detailing the back, but I couldn't figure out how to incorporate it (and the buttons all had discoloring and needed to be recovered), so I left it off. Now I kind of regret it. Anyway, before:

(it also had an underdress, kind of pictured on the side, all bundled up on my ironing board)

After:

& with my corset:

I did make the corset, using a pattern (...can't recall which one...) but it's nothing special and this is the wrong board to talk about it anyway! XD

So now I have dresses to match my shoes & lounge around at picnics in. It's going to be fantastic. =D Thanks for looking!

The belt, and especially the corset, really do it for those dresses.

And you found a fabulous location for those photos.

Scholars and artists...differ most importantly in the way their knowledge is come by.  Scholars get theirs with conscientious thoroughness along projected lines of logic; poets...stick to nothing deliberately, but let what will stick to them like burrs where they walk in the fields.

I love the dresses, especially the pink eyelet with the corset.

I agree. The corset and belt make these all me much better! They make them spunkier! hehe

I have no special talent, I am only passionately curious.
