I apologize for being dense, but I need some clarification, please.  Is this swap only on critters that are still crypto, or can we include cryptids that have been confirmed (e.g.  giant squid)?  I mean, I still have some hardcore fondness for giant squids even though they've become so mainstream as of late.  For that matter, what about the granddaddy of them all - the coelacanth.  Can we go old school, or do we have to stay with cryptids that are still currently oogieboogie?

Both!  Smiley I've forgotten about the coelacanth; I need to add him to my list! I have some "hardcore fondness"  Smiley for giant squids, too.

Wow, I am getting more and more excited to start this swap.  I think I'm hooked.  I've caught myself brainstorming on the topic a bit the past couple of days (a GREAT distraction from bad stuff -- thank y'all!).  I can't wait to find out my partner's preferred cryptids.

I'm also looking forward to the gallery and finding out about cryptids that I don't know about.  I think this'll be a good swap for research and learning.

ETA:  Heh.  It's a good week to be into cryptozoology:

Yeah, I think that was the prominent theory from the beginning once they realized it was natural and not an oil spill.  It is an intriguing one, though, isn't it?
