last year was my first attempt at a garden, and since i had a modicum of success, i decided to revise and reattempt this year! i also started everything from organic seeds this year instead of going with pre-established plants, which was interesting in and of itself!

on to the garden.

we have sugar dot corn, yellow crookneck squash, sugar pumpkins...

beefsteak tomatoes and a sad sprig or two of lettuce (which is funny, my lettuce did great last year!)

and some freestone peaches on my dwarf peach tree

Your plants look great and I'm sure they're going to taste good too.  You're inspiring me to start my own vegetable/fruit garden!!

That's beautiful.  What exactly are "sugar" pumpkins?  An heirloom variety, maybe?  BTW, with regards to your lettuces:  when did you start them?  Lettuce and other greens like cooler temperatures, so you really need to plant them in early spring for them to be happy and produce well.  If you live in a warmer or tropical climate, I think you can technically grow leafy greens in fall or winter.

sugar pumpkins are also called pie pumpkins, they're a small variety. Smiley and yeah, we live in tenn-er-see, it's hotter than hades here right now, lol. i did have the lettuce in a more shaded area of the yard last year, could be the problem! Cheesy
