OK, I just had to google OOAK because I couldn't figure it out. And now I feel inspired to make an embroidered dress for my daughter! I think I have the perfect pattern, and if I am lucky, she'll be able to wear it as a tunic when she gets bigger. My kids love when I make them stuff, and whenever we are at the fabric store my son picks out fabric and asks me to make stuff for him. Right now he wants me to make him an umbrella, but that is alittle out of my reach! Roll Eyes

Maybe he would settle for a rain poncho with a hood?

Oh, good. I felt like a moron because I see OOAK all over etsy and had no idea what it meant til I googled it!

If you figure out how to make an umbrella, take pics and post 'em so the rest of us can make one too! I'm imagining a shiny purple with beautiful embroidery all over it. Probably wouldn't want to take it out in the rain though.

I recently bought one of those japanese craft magazines (Cotton Time), and what do you know?  They have a tutorial on how to make an umbrella!  Sooo pretty, too.  It doesn't look that hard, I just don't know if I'm that motivated. Wink

An umbrella tutorial! Wow. The rain poncho is a good idea, although I don't think he'd buy it. My mom has an umbrella and thats where he got the idea. He told me 'you can do it. All you need are sticks, and frab-brick, and a handle' (he's 3.5yrs old)

Aww...bless! Don't you just love the total confidence in mums to be able to make anything? Grin

I figured OOAK out eventually, but not after looking at stuff on Etsy thinking 'but there's no wood in that Huh'

I bet if you buy a plain colorful umbrella and personalize it with appliques to suit him, he will consider it "made by Mom"

Making an unmbrella sounds like a bit too much fun for me right now, but I would love to see pics if anyone tries!

I had a proud craftster moment yesterday.  My son & I were shopping for a birthday present for a little girl and the little goose asked if he could make her something instead because that is more special. *wipes away a happy tear*  That's my boy! Grin
Don't you love it when kids "get" it and love your OOAK life!

I've been a bad partner. I received on Monday and I'm just now getting around to putting up pictures. I had an awesome partner and its obvious she put a lot of work into my bag!

The Small!  A little needle book that matches my bag.

The bag! It's got like a bunch of pockets and two different handle options and is just amazing!

and a close up of the embroidery. SO DETAILED!
