I don't think they're childish, but they can be annoying to wear if they're too heavy or the charms are too big.

I have a couple of charm bracelets, both all silver.  I like to wear them with 2 or 3 additional bracelets that have color but don't dangle.

I also have a charm necklace that my husband has pretty much filled--much easier to wear.  And I have a matching bracelet chain that's going to get the charms that don't fit on the necklace.

I think charm bracelets are beautiful! I personally love bright and cheery bracelets.
As long as you think they look good on you and you like them, you should wear them. I made this one:

I love chain bracelets and have had a few through my life, but not sure where they have gone.I have wanted a Pandora for years and finally got one for my 30th birthday last November. I want everyone else to buy me the charms as I love the thought of having a charm from everyone who means something to me. Life is short and anything can happen at any moment, and it is nice to have something a loved one has picked especially for you. Even without anything happening though I live miles away from all my family, so it is really nice to have something from them when I miss them. Lastly as a depressed lady with very low self esteem it is good to have a reminder of those who love me.
