I love making these skirts. They take me an hour and the pattern is easy and they fit all sorts of sizes. I am so happy with them! They're all made from vintage thrifted fabrics.

The fabric on this one is called The Painted Desert, which I think is the most romantic name ever.

Made from a thrifted sheet.

This fabric is called Canterbury Manor, which I also love. I think fabric-namer is a good career choice.

White linen.

From recycled t shirts.

More vintage fabric.

Thanks!!

pattern?

It's really just four rectangles. Two for the top band that are a few inches wider than your hips and then two for the ruffles, so that when sewn together they are 2x the length of the waist band. I use elastic for the waist in a casing.

Is there a patten number or is it self-made?
I can picture how it might be done but i'm not sure how many inches high each rectangle should be.

Are they really that simple?

Those skirts are just gorgeous. You are brilliant.

I guess you could just make the ruffles wider for a slightly longer skirt?
