Hello all!

I know I posted a little about this in another thread, but I wanted to start a new one for this month and then just update it when we decided on new charities.

TechShop Durham is happily hosting Crafting for a Cause night on the last Saturday of every month from 6pm until 10pm. Bring your sewing machines, knitting needles, etc and plan on having a great time meeting people and supporting a charity.

This month we will be making blankets for Project Linus so be sure to bring some fabric appropriate for children ages 0 - 18. We have a laser cutter here that can cut quilt squares out of cotton fabric to make the piecing super quick, but alas, it cannot cut fleece so we will have to use good ole'fashioned scissors and rotary cutters for that Smiley

You can find a map of our location and phone number for any questions herewww.techshopdurham.com.

Last month I was super sick and couldn't make it to the event, but I hear there were some Craftsters there and I appreciate the turn out! See you soon!

I'm the only one who showed up last time! And while I had fun making blankets for kitties, I really wanted to meet fellow crafters in the area and it was a bummer that no one was there to meet!

Anyway, I'll definitely come to the upcoming one, but I may need some instruction - I know nothing about quilting and piecing...

It's SO easy with the laser cutter cutting all the pieces out Smiley And the actual quilting process can be as easy or hard as you make it. Since I want to try and get as many finished that night as possible, I'm just going to do simple "X" stitches and I'm going to cheat and construct the quilts in the lazy quilter way (no binding, just top, border, batting and sewn-n-flip).

I hope more people come out and I'm really happy you're coming back!

Alas, I don't think I'll be able to make it tomorrow. This weekend has become hectic Sad

If I knew someone to send in my stead, I would. I hope others show up this time! Perhaps if no one does we could reschedule it for some other day next week?

Thank you so much trying to make it out. My entire next month is insane. Hopefully we get a better turnout ::fingers crossed:: Although most people vacation in summer. Good luck on your crazy weekend Smiley

I don't think so. You should try to contact the place that held it.
