okay so...yeah. Neither my partner nor I have posted pics of our goodies. I have yet to get pics of the stuff I received, but my camera seems to be working okay so I hope to get some taken and posted tomorrow. However, I did take pics when I sent the stuff out and so I'll post what I sent Dragonfly4:
my partner said she'd love to get stuff related to halloween decorating and for whatever reason, that translated in my brain to 'Halloween tree made out of wire!!!' I made lots of ornaments (the red coral ones reminded me of human hearts), a hand woven wire spiderweb tree topper and a garland. The base was kinda tippy but I figured my partner would be crafty enough to fix it or bend the branches accordingly.
I'm pretty sure this pic doesn't do it justice, like with the detail of some of the ornaments, but oh, well... I then decided that what halloween tree would be complete without a zombie rising from his grave?
This was fun to make. I giggled often.
So, my medium ended up taking me a long, long time and many swears were uttered; it was my first attempt at a peyote stitch pattern like this. Then when I'd gotten the pattern part done, I had to figure out what the heck to do with it...so I fringed the bottom and hammered out some silver for a hanger.
The smalls were two freezer stenciled 'bat frenzy' pot holders and frankenstein's monster on a kitchen towel, as well as a large glass pebble magnet (magnet not pictured, it was a skull, and what is pictured are the packages containing the sets of ornaments; I drew little tags for them):
I knew the zombie grave was fragile and I felt like making a decoupaged box so here is Elvira shrieking for you:
I also enclosed some extra goodies, you know like store bought plastic halloweeny things, and I made two pairs of earrings based off the colors of a piece on my partner's wist...I figured the colors were right for halloween and hence okay for monster mashy goodness...the earrings:
Anyway, I hope these items are enjoyed in the spirit...get it...spirit...which they were sent and intended...great swap!!!
