I have 4 dogs...2 Great Danes, a Lab and a Mini-Doxie. You can imagine the number of toys they go through. While on one of my weekly pet store trips, I saw a braided fleece dog toy for $8. $8?!?! I was inspired to try to make my own and lucky me, fleece was on sale for $3.99/yrd at the local fabric store. Steal!

I cut the fleece into strips and just started braiding and tying knots. The dogs went bonkers. They loved the new toys and I loved that I could make them for ~$0.25/toy!! I also dug up some old toys and pulled the squeakers out and found some tennis balls in the garage. I rolled them up in fleece and of course the pups go crazy for them too.

They aren't fancy at all but they are going into my dogs mouths so who cares!

This is my first post so can't embed picture Sad. Here is the link...

These are great - I started making them for a dog rescue but found that one of my cats just loves them.   I tried to make one that was cat-sized for her but she prefers the heavier dog ones.  She loves to  toss it in the air about six feet and "catch" it.

Thanks for sharing!!  My dog doesnt play with toys too much, well only frisbees and soceer balls!  But, my sisters new pup really like to just chew on fabric, so I've been kind of knotting leftover pieces for him.  I'll have to try the fleece!

Thanks again!

these are my dog's favorite toys Smiley I'll make something out of fleece and have odd shaped scraps left over, so i toss them at her (without even tying them sometimes) and she plays with them for hours!

I love the one all the way on the left, and the stick figure one, they are so creative!

We are doing a fundraiser for Relay For Life called "Bark In The Park".
Making picture buttons and dog treats.
I have tons of fleece laying around so I think I will add some of these to our table.

Thank you for posting these!!
(my favorite is the stick figure)
