I'm not sure if any of you are into raw foodism but I borrowed Victoria Boutenko's "12 Steps to Raw Foods" from the library and just made the Chili.  It was pretty good!

- 1 cup water
- 2 cups fresh tomatoes, chopped
- 1/2 cup dates or raisins
- 1 cup sun-dried tomatoes
- 1 cup dehydrated mushrooms (I didn't use any this time but I think I'll use dried shiitake powder next time)
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- sea salt to taste (optional)
- 1-2 tbsp spaghetti seasoning (I used chili powder and pepper)
- 1-2 tbsp juice of lime or lemon
- hot peppers to taste (optional)
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 bunch basil

1. Blend all ingredients in a blender.
2. Add 1/2 pound of bean, pea, or lentil sprouts (do not blend!) and sprinkle with dry parsley flakes before serving.

It tastes a lot like spaghetti sauce except obviously cold, but also lighter and better!  I'd like to see what it tastes like served with raw spaghetti squash.

thanks for posting this! i am embarking on a raw lifestyle, and this sounds tasty! i think i'll add fresh oregano though

Ooh wow that sounds good.  I am dabbling in raw foods not 80/20 more like 90/10 at the moment but I love the recipes. and that sounds good, I want to try it.
