This is my first poppet, I made her for a swap for a very special partner.

The poppet is a wood fairy and her name is Maeve, here she is resting after her long flight from ireland to the US (jet lag is tough even if you are a tiny fairy) she really comes from the trees at the bottom of my garden, she has her home in a mayblossom tree, where she keeps a look out for the hedgehogs and tells them when its safe to go and eat the catfood at my back door.

Her hair has braids and beads. Her eyelashes are cutdown feathers.

Her dress is made from cotton that I tye-dyed and her corset is leather with a triskele design on the front. She has a wreath of leaves that she can either wear in her hair or as a sash and a matching leaf/spiral anklet, (she insisted on wearing her best clothes for her long trip)

since she has a fairy, the most essential things are in her bag. She carries a tiny, handwritten, leather bound spell book. A ribbon wrapped magic wand, that is made from the root of a blackthorn tree (the yin to the yang of the mayblossom-aka whitethorn tree..where she makes her home) She also has some semiprecious stones for spell work. These are all in a little leather pouch that she wears at her side.

she loves her homeland, but she decided that it was time to bring some ancient celtic magic to the US and to learn from the people there...

I hope you like her...comments and constructive criticism are more than welcome.

Oh goodness, are you sure this is your first? LOL, as Ghilie says, you will be assimilated. That is wonderful work edel.  Your partner is very lucky, I'm sure of that. I love the outfit especially and all of the accessories. Great job.

I have a split personality, because you guys crack me up.  AND The best day I ever had was TODAY!

Thanks guys...I think Ghilie is awesome for freely sharing the pattern...and she is quite right..they really do 'talk' to you when they 'arrive'

I love her hair too! It is a little flattish in the pic, but she did suffer the indignity of being really tightly packed for shipping...lol once the jetlag wears off, it'll have a little more bounce I expect.

She is just adorable. I just love her. And her corset is great.

So many ideas so little time. Will I ever get them all done?

She is gorgeous! I love her little corset and all her fancy accessories. It looks like you put a lot of work into her and she came out great.

You did great work edelC, I esp. love the jewelry accents and the feet/toes. Did you drop a link in the poppet along? I don't know how I'm just seeing this.
