I made this today... when I should have been doing other things... out of ribbon and felt scraps. I think it turned out pretty darn cute, don't you think?

I'm thinking about possibly selling them... my question is, how much would you pay for one?

Ooo! I like the colors. Since I don't normally buy pin cushions (my moms work just fine! lol) I would say lilke... 5-7 dollars. I am just guessing though so! They look very cute though. Good job

Suoer cute! Love the ribbon. I think $5-7 would be fair, provided it doesn't take you all day to make, but you could charge different prices for diff. ones.

Thanks everyone. I'm not sure if I'll end up selling them - it took me close to 1 1/2 hours to make, and for $5-$8 it's not quite worth it to me. I had to hand sew it all, which is a pain. Oh well. At least I have a cute new pincushion. Smiley

wow.
ok if i were a rich crafty girl, i'd pay $22 b/c it looks like something i'd find at urban outfitters.

but because i'm crafty, i'm not rich. so i'd pay at most $10, but maybe several (for friends) at $6.

it also depends on how long it takes you to work on them.

i really like it though Cheesy

That is really freakin' cute.
Maybe if you kept making them, you would get faster so you could charge less?

How did you make it, particularly the body part? I'm getting into embroidery and am finding that I could use a pin cushion from time to time, but I'd rather make one than buy one (which is my point of view on most things). I'd be interested in a basic tutorial, at least in terms of what you use for the filling.

Your cusion is really nice and I'd definitely think you could sell it in the $5-10 range.

It's basically just a cylinder of ribbon with felt circles on top and bottom. I would have liked to fill it with sand or something to keep the needles sharp - but all I had was fiberfill.

I've been so busy that I don't know if I'll have time to start making more of these. Too bad, though, I love mine. Smiley So cute.

Thanks everyone!

Wow. Those are great. I'd say $3, but I'd sell them with other things, you could make like little sewing boxes to sell them with!

cute, it's almost never "worth" making things for sale, cause you can never get back your time and hard work, let alone creativity and materials. Maybe you can make these for friends and family as this year's Christmas/Kwannza/Hannuka etc. gift?  Customize it for the receiver.  Great job.
