I made these Amy Butler Birdie Sling Totes for my mom and mother-in-law for Mother's Day recently:

In April my mom and I went to the big quilt show in Paducah, Kentucky and we had fun going through the fabrics at the remnant table at Hancock's of Paducah.  I used some of our favorite fabrics by Kaffe Fasset for these bags.

This Amy Butler Pattern was pretty easy to make.  You can't tell in these pictures, but the tote is quite large:

Wow, these are so nice! I would have thought that with all the patterned fabric, it would look too busy -- but no, they jus complement each other! Really pretty. Your mother & MIL are going to love them!

These look really really nice! I want one. The patterns mesh really well together, however a little to pink for me. Still great though!

The bottom one looks pinkish, but it is really a deep red.  The other one is a nice orchid color on the strap.  I wish I'd purchased more yardage of these designer prints!  They were only $5 for a one-yard cut.

I'm making green and brown version of this bag for myself today, but I ran out of interfacing.

These are wonderful.  I love the way you put the fabrics together.  THey look like they are a great size bag, too!
