I made these this past weekend and I think they turned out great!  I just can't figure out where to hang them in my room  Huh

Let me know what you think of them!

AAAAnd...here's the clock:

^The last one means "love"

I just used acrylic paint on them, and used contact paper for the stencil of the characters.

I made them to match this string of lights that I just picked up from a flea market over the summer:

As you can see, I'm redecorating my room in an Oriental theme.
A new Oriental store just opened at the mall nearby...I can't wait until I get paid, I already know what I'm buying from there Smiley  Everything is SO CHEAP!

Anyway...thank you for looking!  Tell me what you think!

I like that you kept the lines and colors simple, instead of overwhelming it with color.

The middle one says love ("ai" in Mandarin), not the bottom one.

I love crafting with a theme. Smiley They look great.

I'm in the middle of working on a clock myself and was just wondering what you used to hang yours? (I took apart an old plastic clock and the hook part was on the frame, not the clock mechanism, so I need to stick something on to hang it.)

I'm just hanging it with a nail from the back of the clock mechanism.
You could use those sticky things....um I don't know how to explain them.  They're like little squares of adhesive...maybe if I think about it I'll be able to come up with a better explanation.
Thank you Smiley

I really like this idea, but where did you get the hands for the clock and everything? like, at a hardware store or something? or did you just recycle? Huh

so neat! Cheesy

i just got back from michael's crafts... that's where i paid for my clock stuff.  the clock thingy itself was $7.99 and they come in different sizes (3/8", 3/4" etc) but the hands that came with it were gold and reminded me of something gawdy, so i paid another $3 for better hands (silver and zig zaggy).  i'm sure i could have done a better hunt and find for prices but i was in a rush. Undecided

Life isn't complete 'til you crochet a uterus for a friend.  Just make sure your fallopian tubes point down and not up! No one needs to lose an eye this way! Wink

I love personal swaps for small stuff (including Hershey Kisses!)! PM me for happy fun rockin' good times!

Yeah my clock hands came from Michael's.  Mine are silver and zig zag, too.  They do get expensive, but if you recycle everything else on the clock, it's not bad.

I just bought a dollar store clock for the purpose of using it for the record clock. I figure you can attach a pop can tab with some glue to the back of the clock mechanism and use that for a hook!
