This dress is stunning!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it!  I want one.  I want to ask about the bodice.  It looks like the major material used was a champagne silk shantung.  Is the bodice part the same material with lace over it?  Also, how did you make the buttons?  And, did you use a belt inside?  Is there a separate crinoline?

I love this, and I am not such a great seamstress.  I'm going to try and use your recommendations regarding increasing the bust.  And I'll likely do a muslin first since I want one like this in silk.  It's so beautiful!  She's a very lucky girl to have a great friend in you!

Beauty!

That is so beautiful and really captures the type of dresses I remember my mother and aunts and their friends wearing. So very elegant, I love the raw silk and the lace, your friend should be ever so honored to wear this dress!

The dress is GORGEOUS! I have this pattern! I never finished the dress (too frustrated by buttonholes) but I am inspired after seeing this!

The whole dress is silk dupion, the mid section is silk dupion with a lace overlay.
I covered the buttons myself using the silk and lace together.
I didn't use a belt inside. the pattern did call for one, but it really didn't need it.
Yes, the petticoat is seperate.
The whole bodice is fully lined, again with silk dupion.
Hope that answers all your questions.  Smiley

I've added a couple of modelled pics to my blog,www.lazyseamstress.blogspot.com,  they are from her last try on yesterday before taking the dress home with her...safe away from my four kids!

love Jeanette
