Dandelion Dragon and Green Treep

Here's a couple of creatures I've made recently.
I've been thinking about making a Chinese-style dragon for ages, and this is what I came up with:



I pretty much came up with him as I went along, although I knew I wanted him to have a long neck. I also wanted him to be sitting up, so he seems thoughtful and curious.



I tried out the fluffy yarn as a ruff and really liked the way it looked. There are a few more photos of him on my blog.

I also made a variation on the Treep I made before (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=305223.msg3495134#msg3495134), with fluffier green hair this time, as a custom order.





I'm really pleased with his 'big hair' and also pleased that I could follow my notes well enough to make another one!

I like them both. The dragon is cute. I see the thoughtful and curious. I really like the little crocheted rings around the eyes. I can't ever seem to get my stitches tight enough to make that work!

Thank you! marmota-b, that's a real compliment about Tove Jansson - I read Finn Family Moomintroll when I was young, and I think a lot of the creatures got stuck somewhere in the back of my head. I've read a few more book recently, and I love her illustrations and her complex characters.
