This board is fine for the thread. Smiley  We read this board, the Suggestions thread as well as the FOC-only, "What do you want changed?" thread.

We may not always input, but we're always here. Cheesy

Edit:  We'd actually prefer if you didn't post two identical threads about it in two different places (duplicate threads).  Do you mind if I merge this one with the one you just posted on the Suggestions board?  It's much easier for us to keep track, if all of the info is on one board rather than on two.

it would also be good for people who dont necessarily need to be hosted, but who are in a strange town/country and would love to meetup for a coffee

Yes that's true too. You could meet up with another Craftster and maybe have a more crafty tour of town, or at least be told where to go to pick up some local goodies, and of course get to meet other cool Craftster people.

If I'm preparing a trip, sometimes I'll post on the City Guides (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?board=369.0) and ask about where to visit, where to stay, etc.  I usually don't post my dates of personal travel publically, though.

You betcha Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley

Good thinking as always sweets.

ETA, the reason this idea was born is that one I chat with is coming through town and we are meeting for dinner. But if someone needed a roof, I am there.

Edelc your post about WDW got me thinking on the hosting idea. I know you won't be my way, but I thought, hey there are others I would love to meet.

THIS SOUNDS SO COOL. Even just being able to stay with someone for one or two days to get to know the city where you're going or something and then finding a hotel.

There is nothing like staying in a home rather than a hotel. My daughter and I travel quite a bit, lately we are doing it via home-exchange. We are off to Sorrento, Italy in a week for about 10 days and then heading across the pond to orlando for three weeks in august. Both are home exchange. its so nice to have more room than a hotel, to have access to books, gardens, neighbours etc etc. Its a great (and economical) way to see the world.
