Okay, so I was checking out Odd Dotty's site http://odd-dotty.typepad.com/and I got the urge to make a nice simple cloth doll. So I found a pretty simple doll pattern http://dollmaker.nunodoll.com/santa/baby.html and blew it up a bit, grabbed some yarn and safety eyes and came out with this sweet girl.

Sadly, my digital camera lost juice and I have no more batteries, so crappy cell phone pictures it will have to be.

Hope you like her.

And her face with hand-painted safety eyes and embroidered mouth.

C&C welcome!

Very cute. How do you do the hair? I've made only hairless softies so far but I'm ready for hair!

Well I learned how to make doll hair from the Poppet thread. There is a hair tute here/ http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=195129.20

For the record, I do NOT use tape. It can be disastrous, sticky and make the hair a mess. . I use wax paper, parchment paper or anything that can hold the hair in one place. Once you fold the row of hair in half and sew, most wax paper or parchment paper can be torn away pretty easily.

I hope that helps!
