ok - if our fearless leader goes along with this...
I personally have way tons more beads than I could ever want - and am forever finding bargains so getting more...
my DD chibi neko wants acrylic or plastic round or shaped beads and E beads to make rainbow stretchy bracelets with for her friends for GLBT pride, or else some charms or things to make ribbon chokers for herself (her eyes lit up over skulls) - and taking her shopping for a bucket of beads always ends up costing about $75 by the time she gets done looking at all the things that are NOT beads (you know how that goes) and that she will never use.
so - she is joining the swap, and getting partners and receiving the packages, and raiding my stash to send things to partners, with my willing assistance and aid  Grin
I will also immediately volunteer to angel if you need one
(yes, my stash is that big)  Undecided
but I have committed myself to other swaps so can't join this one right now...
Grin since she is the one wanting the beads, it is only fair that she join the swap, LOL!

Hi Ladies!  I think this will be fine.  I'll be looking closely at questionnaires for partnerings to make sure everyone is happy.

Everyone else:  Did anybody have plastic/acrylic beads that the DID NOT bother to mention since they were trying to trade for glass/crystal, etc, that they would now like to mention?

Yay, almost time for the swap to start!  ::happy Jennie dance::

I just sent in my questionnaire Smiley

What I have to offer:
An array of green glass beads in various shapes and sizes (mostly medium-sized)
Round black plastic beads
Small beads (the size a little bigger than seed beads) in various colors
Striped plastic beads in purple and peach, I believe
Elongated ear hooks
etc.

What I would love to receive:
Basically anything vintage or vintage-like Smiley
Faceted glass beads
Old charms or lockets
etc.

Most of my beads are medium to largish.

I think our younger friend is looking for "pony beads", sometimes called "ghetto beads"- they're plastic (acrylic), and are usually about 1 cm. long, 1 cm wide, although they are sometimes smaller- they are usually barrel-shaped, but can also come in heart shapes, fruits, skulls, etc. You'd know 'em if you saw 'em! They work well in cornrowing and small braiding, for hair, because the holes are usually around 4mm wide.

The funny thing about them is, they breed. I'm serious. If you accidentally pick up even a half-dozen of them, they will magically begin to infest your stash- suddenly, you'll be finding them, in various shapes and hues, in every storage box you own! It's creeeeeepy..... Wink

leopardstripes is exactly right!

I really don't know what acrylic beads are vs plastic - she wants the ones that are like pony beads, either the bigger ones or the smaller ones (the kind they use to make beadie babies keychains out of if that helps at all - she would love to be able to make some more of those sometime) and also the plastic ones that you get for little kids to string with ribbon or stretch stuff that ties - bigger holes are better.

they often come in buckets of assorted beads for little kids to craft with, or in smaller bags of one color at a time.

she is a real character, and deefinitely has her own style, LOL! she loves rainbows, black, skulls and kittens - if that gives you any clue...

she likes the ones with funky shapes like stars and what not, but all round or square or whatever is great too

only thing is it has to be anything with a hole big enough to go on a ribbon as her fingers are not coordinated and she has no patience, LOL! glass is not a safe bet for her, and the stone beads I have all have too small a hole for her to work with easily.

Well, it looks like it's the 14 of us ladies.  :-)  I would start working on partnering people up right now, but I've got a quilt in my sewing machine, that is halfway through being free motion quilted.  And as it is the first time I've ever done such a thing, I'm going to finish quilting it (gotta keep the juices flowing) and then make dear husband dinner, AND THEN I will do partners.  If anyone else decides to join us between now and then, they are more than welcome.

Cheers!
