Yay!  I'm so excited that people are signing up already!  This is the second swap I've organized.  My first was the Outlander Rd. 2 Swap, based on Diana Gabaldon's Outlander novels...  we only had 8 people sign up total, which was nice for a first time organizer like me to keep track of, but I'm sure excited about having more friends hopefully play in this one!

I have told myself very sternly that I am NOT ALLOWED to sign up for this until my One Tiny Thing is in the post.

Oh my gosh- I'd better start posting! Just realized that, while I look around here a LOT, and get major inspiration, rarely do I say anything. Thank Dog it's the weekend!  Wink

This swap looks good, I have loads of beads and always like to get some different ones Cheesy

I have to limit myself to one swap at a time at the moment, so I'll sign up if I can get my current swap items done in time - better get off t'internet then! Roll Eyes

Any more non-USA peeps joining this one?

I'm asking this question against my better judgement because I told myself I'd only be in one swap at a time for a while, but I didn't see any mention of having to use DC numbers for this swap. If possible could swappers send their beads in an envelope without DC numbers? Of course if any envelopes got lost they'd have to be replaced with a follow up envelope.

Just curious...  Grin

Hi sheepBlue,
While I did not write it specifically in the start of the thread above, yes, this swap will follow all Craftster swapping rules, including those about shipping.  You must use DC#'s.  I noted that you should check the Swap Info Guide, where it is specifically stated.  I cut and pasted the sending rules here for you.  Using delivery confirmation is only about .75 cents, so it should not make or break your shipping budget.  Since we are sending at least 1 cup of beads, we should not be shipping in plain envelopes anyways.  Bubble/padded envelopes that seal should be fine for most of us, which should make shipping rather cheap between partners here in the states.  I'm sorry if that discourages you from joining the swap, as I'd love to have you come play with us.  But rules are rules, and I'm big on following them.  This swap is intended to be very quick and easy, AS WELL AS CHEAP since we all already own the beads we will be sending.
Thanks,
Jennie

Mailing your swap item to your swap partner

You must use "delivery confirmation" (DC#) or package tracking of some sort when you mail your package. And you must send the tracking number to the swap organizer so that they can record it. This way if the package gets lost, you won't get Negative Feedback because you can prove that you sent the package.

There are two reasons why you might be allowed to skip delivery confirmation:

1. Some shipping places (like the US Post Office) won't do package tracking/delivery confirmation on packages that are too thin

2. If you are mailing to another country and adding on package tracking/delivery confirmation would be very expensive, then you can skip it.

If you must skip tracking, then for proof of mailing just keep the receipt you get for shipping the item. The receipt should have information about where the package is going to.

If you have a digital camera, you may want to snap a picture of your item before you send it. This way, if the person you send it to doesn't have a digital camera, you can still show it off in the "Swap Gallery" for this swap (after the person has received it!).
