Baby's First Tattoo Sweater question

So, I'm making the Baby's First Tattoo sweater for my 1-year-old and I came to a problem.  I am stitching the two front panels.  So, I am working the St st until the last four stitches and then I'm working the seed stitch for the last 4 stitches.  But, here's my problem: The two colors aren't connecting so the border isn't attached to the st st part.  What the heck am I doing wrong?!?!  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Had the same prblm for the first couple of rows then I realized I needed to twist the yarn together before switching the color. It says that in the first book. Does that make sense?

Whatever you didn't twist and where it still seperates I'm sure you can just sew em together on the ws

just wondering how you ladies got on with your cardigans?
i am a little further on in the pattern from this and want to start the raglan shaping bit, but i am STUCK!!

please can you explain to me how you shape the front panels from the raglan instructions - i don't understand it at all for some reason!

would really appreciate any help you can give - thanks!
