I was just so proud that I had to share! To date every craft I've tried to teach her doesn't interest her. She can do them but usually doesn't finish. She worked for a couple hours last night (and didn't want to go to bed) and then a couple hours today to finish it.

Wow!  Fantastic job!  Are those French knots?  Did she make up the general idea for the pattern?  I love it!  Tell her she can make a pillow case for me any day!   Cheesy

Yep those are french knots by requests. She showed me what parts she wanted from a bunch of pictures and I drew it on.  Thanks for the nice words I'll let her know!

Beautiful work!

I started crafting when I was a little girl (when dinosaurs ruled the earth, if you believe my fiancee's 13 year old), and the love of that has kept me going for many decades. I think that crafting provides an outlet for creativity, but also teaches coordination, planning (I mean, you have to picture it in your head, right?), logic, mathematics and a host of other lessons. The most important lesson it taught me is how to give. I own very few of my own pieces and happily donate to charities and pass out my stuff to whomever shows an interest.

Here's to your little one, and for a lifelong love of all that is created by her hands!

Please tell your daughter that I love her embroidery!

She is very good at this. How old is she? If she embroiders another piece, I would love to see it.

She did a fantastic job. Looks like she's found her medium of choice. If she's starting out this good, I can only imagine what she'll be doing with more time and practice. Good for her!
