This is my very first doily.  I'm discovering I love working with thread!

The pattern is available at http://ninasatmyhouse.blogspot.com/2009/05/gift-doily.html.  Any comments or suggestions are welcome.  I did try blocking it (also my first), but it almost looks like it could use a bit more.

Your doily looks great!!!

Quick question, I'm trying it out on some extra yarn I have, and rnd 6 seems to be a typo

Rd 6 attach white in same sp, ch 3, dc in next sc, * ch3, skip 2 sc, 1 sc in each of the next 2sc, repeat from * all around, ch 3, join.

It starts off with a dc then goes back to sc's.  I tried that and it looked 'wrong' so I started making the sc's into dc and that solved it.

Did you follow the directions as written or did you have to 'fix' it also?

Haha....figured it out!

Wow, it's beautiful . . . and your first!  I admire people who can do thread crochet and enjoy it . . . I'm trying to do a doily right now and I'm just not liking that teeny, tiny hook!  Cheesy

Nice work, I really like the color combo. My thread work always looks like it could use more blocking even after they've already been blocked, I think it just might be the nature of cotton.
