So I was walking through the building at work this morning and overheard someone say that Joann's was going out of bussines.  I pretty much panicked since it's the only fabric store around here but I can't find anything about it online.  Is it just some of them?  Maybe she misheard somewhere?

From what I gleaned off the internet--it's another store called Joan Fabrics (upholstery fabric???), that filed for Chapter 11, and is having it converted to Chapter 7.  Nothing to do with good old Joann's Fabric and Craft.  That's not to say that some of their smaller stores haven't been closing in deference to big box stores.  But the business as a whole remains intact.

Wow that's good to hear.  I don't think we have the other kind around here anyway.

I think they're based somewhere in the mid-west...I'd not heard of them until I looked up the stock info, and saw that a lot of folks had had the same misunderstanding.  And with a lot of the smaller stores closing, it fed the thought.  I had a moment of panic, though!   Wink
