"Adventure is out there." -Up

This year for Halloween my best friends and I were the knights from Monty Python's Spamalot. I handmade two and a half costumes (my friend finished her own, she's in the black/white). The tunics are cotton, the 'armor' is silver sequened, and the design work is freezer paper and freehanded. It took me so long to post because the best pictures we had were taken by the yearbook staff at my school and they wouldn't let us have them until after the yearbook was released (we made the main picture on the halloween page!!).

hiding in the shrubbery (left to right: Sir Robin, the Not-Quite-So-Brave-as-Sir-Lancelot, Sir Dennis Galahad, The Dashingly Handsome (me, clearly), & Sir Lancelot the Homicidally Brave)

not a great jumping shot, but it shows the full costumes

the color's not so great, but shows the whole outfits

this is the one that made the yearbook (unfortunatly, not the best shot of the actual costumes, but we still got a ton of complements

The swords are (obviously) fake foam ones (I got a fake plastic real looking one taken away when I dressed up for Pirates of the Caribbean) and the coconuts that I'm holding I also made out of two plastic wiffle balls (my younger brothers were quite mad about that...). I actually clopped them around the school from class to class and got a ton of weird looks... but a lot of people got it and yelled things like 'NI' at us.

Oh and just for reference, these are the costumes from the musical Spamalot that we tried to imitate, you can (hopefully) guess who's who.

Comments and questions welcome!!

Love them! I tried talking my husband into some Holy Grail costumes a few years ago, I wanted to go as the killer rabbit and him as a bloodied knight. I thought it would be hilarious, but he wouldn't go for it.  Undecided
