I made a lampshade to replace one that was missing from my pendant lights by following the instructions in "Readymade" mag issue 38, dec08/jan09.  All it took was crochet thread, fabric stiffener, a glass form to use as a mold, and plastic wrap (to protect the glass form).  You could also use a balloon and a hanging lampcord with socket to make your own pendant lamp (those are the orig. instructions in the mag, but I wanted the shape to match the 2 existing lampshades.

After wrapping with string, painting on the fabric stiffener, and allowing to dry (at least 5 hours),

Had to cut the bottom out to remove from glass mold (original lampshade).  But if you used a balloon, then you could just pop it.

What do you think? (sorry, first time posting, so i can only include links to my photos.)
