no cat anywhere ever gave anyone a straight answer

Okay, it kind of feels weird putting this project in this forum, so if it's innapropriate please feel free to move it!

The second month my husband and I were dating, we adopted a cat to keep his cat company.  I picked out my buddy Nova from the local humane society.  He was a 2 year old boy, and was actually named Casanova because he was one of those cats who has to be touching someone (or licking them) all the time.

That was 9.5 years ago.

A week ago Saturday, on my daughter's 2nd birthday, Nova lost his fight with a thyroid condition.  It was a very sad and frankly shocking night for my husband and me.  We dug him a grave the following morning (don't tell the city!) and this last weekend I made a memorial stone for him.

It's nothing fancy, but we feel like it's appropriate.

Rest in peace, my lovely darling!

I don't think it's inappropriate at all.  The headstone is really nice.

I'm sorry about your cat.

It's just the stuff you use to make stepping stone kits.  I'm at work right now, and don't remember the name of the company, but I bought everything (the cement, the letters, the tiles and the mould) at JoAnn's.  And I've got a ton of the cement left over.

That is absolutely beautiful. I am currently making a box for my puppies ashes. So, I personally think that this is absolutely the right place to put this. I am so sorry about your kitty kitty. My best wishes and condolences go out to you and your family.

this is such a lovely and beautiful idea - and it's soooo important to have a physical memorial when a pet passes into the big exciting beanbag in the sky  Cry

i really feel for you, i've lost my soulmate poppy last year (19 year old puddy kat) and my brilliant ball of joy quiver this year (14 year old paw'ed rascal) and a pet passing away is just unimaginably sad. but remembering the great times is amazing, and for both my pets ive made memorials of photos and their things that i love looking at and laughing to  Smiley
