My partner for the latest round of the "Invite Your Partner Swap" wanted me to make some quilt blocks with animals that represent each of her family members. I also did a koi quilt block because she had one on her wist.

First up: my favorite one- a happy little bumble bee. I love his smile Grin

I traced both the fox and bumble bee from clip art I found on Microsoft Word.

The frog and monkey came from an embroidery kit I got a few years ago.

The koi fish is an enlarged version of the one in the Doodle Stitching book.

For size reference, these were done on 8X8 squares of white quilters cotton. I used mostly stem stitch, french knots, satin stitch ,and split stitch and a fancy couching on the bumble bee.

I love them!!  I think koi fish are beautiful, so that's my favorite block.

They're all wonderful, but the monkey and the frog are wicked good!
