So..I had to take a break from unpacking and I made this quick top.
It's really comfy..made from a light, somewhat stretchy fabric.. That I think was perfect for this top.
I think I am going to replace the ribbon with  the same fabric as the top. ?

It still needs a bottom hem. I think I will keep the length though. (as much as I can).

Please excuse the mess. Things aren't organized yet. lol. Probably never will be in that room Roll Eyes

Your room looks tons better than mine.

I love the top, and like the ribbon. If you keep it ribbon you can change it to match an outfit any time.

Thank You (=

I scored 15 yards of it when walmart got rid of their fabric.

I may keep the ribbon. I like that idea  Grin

Very pretty! I've always wanted to make a shirt like this, but I am unsure about how to cut the fabric to make the gathered top. Any advice? I would love to hear!

Thanks!
It's basically two rectangles with armholes cut out..and then sewn together. It will look huge, but when you get the string in it will gather at the top.

I used patter new look 6892 but it would be pretty simple to do without it..even for me.
Before you sew your rectangles together .. I would give the sides a little shape..especially if you don't use a fabric that will drape itself.

I hope that wasn't  too confusing  Undecided

So cute - I think some thicker ribbons of that fabric would make some cute ties!.. I missed when our walmart closed out their fabric - of course during the 2 weeks I didn't hit the store they got rid of it all.. was so upset!!.. Great job!.. And good luck with the unpacking!

That is a really cute top.  I think I agree that a thicker ribbon might be even cuter.
