Since my girls actually nap (knock on wood), I am going to start trying to work off my negative feedback.  Life got hectic with their early arrival.  I apologize for the inconveniences my flaking caused.

I feel like a slow poke. Wink I've finished my medium and only just yesterday got my last supply (that sounds funny...) in the mail and prewashed all my fabrics. I have almost the whole weekend reserved for crafting up a storm. Cheesy I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone has come up with!

I never did post pics of my room/s.... so I guess better late than never.
Any design advice would be much appreciated!
The area that needs the most improvement is the kitchen/dining room:

this was before we moved in (in fact it's the pics the rental company took) and I ADORE the basics, but don't know really how to accessorize it.
The one thing that MUST stay is this beauty it's a family joke/tradition thing and I actually do kind of like it.
I DO NOT want the whole cutesy country/barn look though (the outside of my house looks like a barn, so that's enough farm yard for me... NO CHICKENS/GEESE/PIGS!!!) I also like these things (the rack and the vase, not so much the owl spoon rest) but I wish my spices were all pretty. I did find some cute tins (top row) at Wally world that fit perfectly, but I can't just trash all my spices and get new ones cause the containers look good in my kitchen!
I don't like this curtain either, and you can see the light well:
this is a close up of the counter: I think it's my favorite thing about my kitchen! I MUST find a solution for this: my "pantry" under the stairs.
this is the attached dining area and these are the ugly curtains in the dining room (and living room too)
Thanks in advance for any advice/ ideas!!
My bathroom needs help too, but I'll save those pics for another post!

If you have cash on hand to spend, go to your local senior center that has a wood crafting room and ask the gentlemen to make you custom shelving. You don't pay a whole lot more than supplies and a little more for labor but you get beautiful handcrafted shelving that will fit in that space.
