In the spirit of "huh, I could make that," I took inspiration from a craft that I found at the local Farmer's Market, and made a hanging strawberry planter.

I honestly didn't use a pattern, or measure, or pin, or finish my seams, and it shows Smiley

The bottom is a single thickness of fabric, and the sides are a double thickness. I placed a plastic bag with the bottom cut out of it inside of the bucket before adding the potting soil and compost. I figured that would help to keep moisture in, while still allowing it to drain.

It may or may not work... but I figure for the investment of $5 for the plants and less than an hour of my time (the fabric was from my stash and I already had the soil), it will be a fun experiment.

What a great idea, and so much cuter than the options at the store!

you know, I have two of the "upside down planters" and they are worthless. but I hate throwing them away and they are just sitting empty. I never thought of using them right side up! I know yours is not the same but it gave me the idea! plus since they are so very ugly, this has given me the idea for covering them! I could just plant flowers in them! you are awesome! thanks for the inspiration! and I'd love to see the progress of your strawberries.

sorry for rambling! yikes!

love laugh create!
