I really desperatly want to make a gothic trench coat (well more accuratly a duster, so there's no belt). I cant find any patterns for a coat even similar to the one I want, and I'm not a skilled enough sewer to make my own. Does anyone know of any patterns?

There are hundreds of models out there that you could modify to your taste, and there are lots of things you can do to it so that it has a gothic look.  Could you show us a picture of something similar to what you actually want?

Simplicity 5386. It is a costume pattern, but their costume patterns are just as detailed as their regular patterns.

I love the matrix coat idea, I'm also really fond of the coat Jillian made in Project runway or something like the coats from hottopic like this: only without the chains or anything.
